Having seen wedding bookings increase significantly, Simon and Nicola knew they needed to expand and update their kitchen to cater for the increase in covers from 50 to 150. In addition, weddings started being booked on successive days due to the sites popularity, therefore a larger kitchen was needed to organise and prepare food for the following day.
Not only did the kitchen need enhancing and updating to help speed up the catering processes, it was important to make sure the consistent high quality of food wasn’t impacted. So building an extension so that a larger work force could operate simultaneously, working on food for that day and the following days menu made perfect sense. Large walk-in cold rooms and a state-of-the-art cookline were also installed to help with the process.
Simon, told us he had five quotes from various catering companies across the South, but the reason he chose BFES was:
“The presentation from the Design Manager made my decision-making much easier. Many companies usually charge for rendered images and 3D design drawings, so to have this done prior to any contracts allowed me to really see what it was going to look like. And BFES gave me the freedom to make amendments to suit my preferences.”
Since the extension and install of new kitchen, the business has gone from strength to strength, with over 100 weddings a year and a waiting list of nearly 18 months. Without a new kitchen, Farbridge simply wouldn’t have been able to supply this demand.
We caught up with Simon again, and he had this to say:

Absolutely 100% – anyone needing a bigger kitchen or just general kitchen work, I would hand on heart recommend BFES.
